Washington - Day #3

Blogged in Travel on Friday December 31, 2004

Hey folks! I’m up here in Washington now, so I will not be back in California for a while. I’ve been hanging out with my cuz for the past couple days or so and it’s been pretty chill. Runnin’ around doing random things and meeting some of his friends, good times. We’ve watching Nap. Dyn. about twice I think, the food has been incredible here. I’ve been quit excited to see my girlfriend, because I haven’t seen her in a while and that would be nice to see her. She’s only about 30 or 40 miles away right now, but I will see her soon. Washington is quite different than I had expected. (It has been almost 8 years since I’ve been up here, so I don’t quite remember what it was like.) But it’s good to be back here and I’ll probably post 1 or 2 more times while up here. You can still hit me on my cell if you want to reach me or just e-mail me (I will be checking my e-mail periodically at night). Have a fun and safe New Years!!!!

Got Cheese?

Blogged in Humor on Tuesday December 28, 2004

Recently, a couple got their vows renewed. This wasn’t any ordinary renewal though. A casino had purchased a grilled cheese sandwhich not too long ago. This was no ordinary grilled cheese though, this grilled cheese looked similarly to the Virgin Mary. An older lady had realized this just right before taking a bite, that the sandwhich looked like the virgin mary, and she stopped. She then held on to it for 10 years and finally sold it. A 10-year-old grilled cheese sold for $28,000 on ebay. But back to the couple. They wanted to get their vows renewed in front of this grilled cheese sandwidth and you can read more here.

Good tidings…

Blogged in Events, My Life on Saturday December 25, 2004

Well, Christmas is winding down now. I’m hoping that everyone had a great Christmas and was able to see some family or friends. My day went well…hmmm well, some of it at least. It started out by being woken up by my father (wasn’t bad, but it was an early start) at 7:30am. (All this happened after NOT sleeping in my own bed because my stupid cat peed in it). Slowly started getting going and finished all the morning stuff. Breakfast came around and that was good. Then people started showing up around 11:30ish or around there. My great grandparents came and then my grandparents showed up. My whole, I mean whole, family was here today. Mom, Dad, Jennifer, Laura, Me, Ramyer, Matthew…mmm it was good. Today was just an overall good day. I hope your holiday season continues to be good :) God bless

Work Work Work

Blogged in General, My Life on Tuesday December 21, 2004

Welcome to reality, so my father says. I am once again working at my dad’s office helping out with computer consulating and some database entry/clean up. It keeps me busy and it helps pay my bills. The help I give them is great too because they need it sometimes, so when I can help out, that’s great. In the time after work, I’ll be hanging out with my friends. Tonight (tuesday night), a bunch of us will be going to Heather’s house have a game night. Maybe Megs will come over to play some NBA Live 2004 for a little bit. Not much else going on this week. Thursday is my last day of work because the offices will be closed on Friday. Saturday is Christmas *YAY*. I hope everyone got their Christmas shopping done! Have a great week/day!

Christmas Spirit

Blogged in College, My Life on Saturday December 18, 2004

Hey everybody! I hope your Christmas season is going well and that you have a joyous one. I am actually packing up right now, as I’m posting this, to move home. My dad is coming to get me around 12 and then I’m going to graduation. IT should be a good day. I’m having Christmas at my house and all of my family is coming out to my house for it. But right after Christmas is over, I fly up to Washington to visit a family. There should be some good times when I go up and a lot of new and exciting things happening. I’ll try to keep posted while I’m up there, but I’m not sure if I will be able to or not. I’ll be taking pictures so you can see them when I return. I hope everyone has a great Christmas and that everyone stays safe. (P.S. — if you see my bike around, someone stole it. so please attack them with a flipflop if you see them so I may get it back. Thanks![not kidding, my bike really did get stolen])

FCC Approves WiFi

Blogged in Geek on Thursday December 16, 2004

The FCC recently approved wireless use on airlines. I’m assuming this will cost a pretty penny, on the airlines part, to change the way of communication and to allow this new interference in the air.

I believe this to be good and bad. Good because a lot more business will be able to get done now via wireless internet and cell phones, but bad because the airline industry is already so far in the hole that they need to focus their money elsewhere so I feel this is a waste of their money right now. What is your opinion?

Sprint & Nextel, got money?

Blogged in Geek on Wednesday December 15, 2004

Sprint and Nextel have been speaking of merging. Interesting situation. Well, as it seems, they did merge. The news article is very descriptive and goes into further detail than I can here. But I think that’s a very interesting move on Sprint’s part. Sprint needed a boost and Nextel was starting to die off because they lost their patent on the ‘radio phone’ dealy. But now they are one company. I guess this merger is similar to the same merge by Cingular and AT&T. Bigger companies now I assume.

AOL Fraud

Blogged in Geek on Wednesday December 15, 2004

As I was visiting news.com, I spotted an article about AOL. Anything having to do with AOL interests me because of how much disgust I have for them. As I clicked on the article to read it….it was a great surprise to me. AOL is being sued by the US for $210 million because of some fradulant activity they have been doing with a company called PurchasePro. You may read more details here.
