Saturn Donor Center

Blogged in News on Friday March 4, 2005

I received an e-mail today with information regarding the Saturn Donor Center. The e-mail is below:

Did you know that the number of people requiring lifesaving organ transplants continues to rise faster than the number of available donors? There are well over 87,000 people currently on the waiting list in the U.S. alone.

Did you know that approximately 35,000 patients each year are diagnosed with leukemia or other diseases potentially treatable with a marrow transplant but only one in three will find a donor match within their family? The remainder will have to look to the National arrow Donor Registry for help.

Because of this, the Saturn Team is taking additional steps to help promote lifesaving donation from Thursday, March 3 through Tuesday, March 8, and you can help! Visit saturn.com/donorday from March 3 through March 8, and request a red Saturn “People first” wristband… (more…)

Broken Worlds

Blogged in Music on Thursday March 3, 2005

Promises shattered
Answers don’t come
Friends say goodbye
Plans come undone
Dreams get crushed
Lies get told
Words can turn cruel
Hearts can grow cold

CHORUS
In a broken world where we cry to feel
Some hope that helps these hearts to heal
You’re my strength, You’re my refuge
In a broken world, Jesus I’m holding to You

You make sense of the madness
And You make darkness flee
You bring such a calm
To the chaos in me
Show me life
Tell me truth
Day after day I keep running to You

CHORUS

Long ago, we fell so far
Yet You came to where we are

CHORUS

This song means a lot to me. I just like the words and how they are shown through the soft touch of the song. It gives me a good feeling. (This is a new category and I will be posting random lyrics once in a while depending on the mood I’m in.)

Neighbors in College

Blogged in College on Thursday March 3, 2005

Well, something interesting came to my attention. I’m not sure if this is just me or if this is something that normally happens, but I just had a neighbor drop by and as she was leaving told me she thinks that she’s having hot flashes. Is that normal to hear from a neighbor or is that something out of the ordinary? Not sure, maybe that’s just me. Is that normal?

Soccer: Game 4

Blogged in My Life, Sports on Wednesday March 2, 2005

We had another soccer game yesterday. We lost again, 0-4, against a moderately good team. I knew some of the people on their team. They weren’t anything great, but they had some skilled players. They were kind of jerks about some of the calls, but that happens. It was a fun game though. I feel like I played hard and had a great time.

And well, today we didn’t have school. Today was CDL (Common Day of Learning) here at APU. My girlfriend and I just kind of lounged around today. We went to Sports Chalet and Office Depot to pick up some things, but mostly it was a day of rest. It was much needed with so much going on.

Also, regarding my passport, that kind of got messed up too. I have to fill out a couple more things before it’s ready to get shipped off again and then processed. I need to have it by March 20th so that I can go to Egypt and Spain with my dad. We’re still wondering where it could have gone…but oh well, that’s life.

Mid-Term Update

Blogged in College on Tuesday March 1, 2005

Well, I just found out that my Psych mid-term isn’t until Thursday, so I’m excited. That gives me just a little bit more time to study for it and feel more prepared. That’s about it for this post I guess. Oh yeah, I picked up the Jars of Clay tickets for Megan, her friend, my sister Jennifer, and myself. It should be a great concer! Jars of Clay headlining with Tyrone Wells and Small Boat Sinking, opening for them. Definitely worth the $11 I paid :)

Have a great week!
