Recently I received an e-mail from my Uncle David Dingman. Here are some updates newsabout how David Dingman-Grover II is doing and what has been going on in his life.
The local county government is declaring April 5, 2005 it David Dingman-Grover Day in Loudoun County, VA. This is to commemorate his surviving cancer and his contributions to helping raise the cause of Brain Tumor Cancer. It also appears that David is going to be a co-Grand Marshall for the Race for Hope 5K a Brain Tumor Society event. It looks like he will be helping Wendy Rieger (afternoon news anchor at the local NBC TV) of NBC4 start the race on the 1st of May. That should be a lot of fun for him as he kicks off the race and the ‘Frank Must Die’ team takes off along with all the other wonderful teams helping raise money for brain tumor research. It’s a nice circuit in D.C.
Women’s Day Magazine (May 24th publish date) is doing a story on David. Tiffini is trying to return to work more than a few hours a week and getting care for David didn’t seem to be working out until the Lord opened up an opportunity for a local Karate school to offer a cost-effective and time-appropriate training for David that he is very excited about. Returning to a “normal” life for a 10 year old is a juggling effort to find things that won’t damage him, are interesting, and also fit within the schedule they need. This class is just the thing, as everything else just didn’t work. It’s as if the Lord just kept shutting all the other doors. We’ll see how it goes. David is very excited about it at the moment and it will help him learn the discipline needed to develop self-confidence and physical well-being. This school doesn’t do the “religion bit” that so many Karate schools do. They focus on “respect”, self-control and making wise decisions
It seems that he is doing much better now and still getting the same amount of publicity as before, now just with the ladies…yeah David! Just kidding hehe. I’m glad that he’s doing so well and we much keep him in prayer so that the tumor doesn’t come back for some strange reason.
