Blogged in Geek on Friday July 8, 2005

Amazon.com has recently turned 10 years old. They posted on their site, an image of their old site (seen below):

I think it’s evolved a bit…what do you think? :P

I can remember thinking.. “Who is going to buy stuff online?” LOL

My mom is _still_ scared to buy stuff online, even though I do it almost everyday :) I’ve never had problems with buying stuff online and I’ve never had identity theft, I feel it’s safe enough right now.

I wasn’t old enough then to actually know wtf amazon was, but that website really looks like something that would have been around 10 years ago.

Yeah, I was around, but I definitely didn’t realize what Amazon.com was at the time. I’ve been watching it evole for the past 7 or so years though. That’s about when I got into the itnernet side of the world. I’ve been dealing computer themselves for the past 12 years though.

I remember when I first ‘discovered’ the internet. It’s amazing how in such a short time, things have evolved so much.

Yeah, it truly is amazing to see how far the Internet has come and how much further it is going to go. I’m excited about Internet2 and I hope they make it public besides just universities.

It runs at extremely high speeds of up to 4gbps or something around there.

I’ve seen such sites like newegg.com and a9.com evolve into sites much better than I had expected, so it’s good to see the progress going on as well.
