This coach allegedly paid a player to injure another boy

Blogged in News on Saturday July 16, 2005

When I first heard of this incident, actually from my mom, it disgusted me and made me want to blog about it. What happened was this T-ball coach allegedly paid another player on the team $25 to injur one of the players so he couldn’t play. The boy that he didn’t want to play was handicaped and he wouldn’t be as good on the team.

First off, this is SICK. Who on earth would be so shallow or sick to think of something like that. Secondly, what kind of coaches do we have in this nation treating players like that. Thirdly, IT’S T-BALL FOLKS! How old are they? They’re like 5 or 6 at that age. Does winning really matter at all? I remember playing T-ball and it was so much fun. Exactly what it’s supposed to be, FUN, no one cares about winning back then.

What makes me so sick is that most likely nothing will happen to him, other than not being able to coach. My little cousin played T-Ball and they don’t even keep score here.

A good idea to not keep score, but actually, he’s going to jail, as he should. The story just makes me simply sick to my stomach that someone could actually do that. That someone could be that heartless and shallow…

Ok, added the .net to the URI LOL… I played softball for 7 years. It’s amazing how the parents are the ones so into the “winning” aspect of it. I know most of us girls only liked the game and could care less if we won. Let me tell ya, I saw some brutes just in girl’s softball. :D

I played baseball as a youngin’ back in the day, about 10 years ago, and it wasn’t aggresive or anything. We were purely out there for the fun of it and I still have fond memories of it. I’m glad the parents weren’t aggresive with my teams.
