note to self…
note to self: never go camping with my roomate….

Recently, this was brought to my attention. One of my friends from High School was in a near-death car accident yesterday. She was driving up in Fresno and swerved and hit a semi-truck. The truck driver died, but she survived with only minor scratches.
“I walked out of that with just a scrape on my arm. My little car ran into a semi, and the driver is dead. And I walked away. I have absolutely no idea how that happened.”
It really scared me to hear of this because of what I went through about 2 years ago. If you don’t know, 2 years ago I was in a near-death car accident myself.
“I put on my brakes and just closed my eyes.”
It truly is amazing what God did and saved her life. God saved my life and He’s doing it again. It makes me remember how many people I had supporting me and showing that they cared about me. Christina has a lot of friends and family. She is important to me and a lot of people I know. She currently is working up at a camp called Hume Lake. A Christian camp that I went to when I was in Middle School. She’s truly a blessing to have in my life and I’m very glad she is still alive. God really did protect her.
“Today, I had my window down instead of turning on the air conditioner. I climbed out the window because I couldn’t get my door open,” she said, shaking her head at how that coincidence helped her get away before her car caught fire. “And we are in range of cell phone service right here. When do you ever get cell phone service on this road?”
A lot of you may say that this all happened by chance, but it didn’t happen by chance. God worked throughout the whole accident. God was there in the start, God was there in the end.
We need to all keep the truck driver’s family and friends in our prayers as well for they need it just as well as Christina. We need to be supportive of all the parties involved with this accident. God really protected Christina and it is truly showing.
Well, to start it off, I partially took the title from Chris’ site because his site title is Sillyness spelled incorrectly, so that’s where it came from. My life has been pretty busy lately. I have done a lot of modifications to this site and I’m getting ready to launch another site soon. I’ve been working on the forums for that site as well and getting everything ready. There is much work to be done still before launching my new site, but it should be good and hopefully ready within 2 weeks.
My sister came out this past weekend and it was really good to spend the weekend with her. I hadn’t seen her in a while and she’s gotten so much bigger (belly-wise because she’s pregnant!). We’re all very excited for them that they are expecting a baby boy. I was able to hang out with a lot of my friends this past weekend and catch up on old times. I love my friends, I have some of the best friends I think. It’s nice to know that I don’t have fake friends that just want to use my or something, but actually care about me and who I am.
Church was pretty good this past weekend because Larry spoke (he is the founding pastor of the church, but hasn’t been the senior pastor for 2 years now). Things are going really well in my life and I’m going down to see a friend next weekend in Irvine, so that will be very exciting. Lots of stuff happening and more to come, so stay tuned :D
Wow. All I can say is wow. Last night was amazing. I went to dinner (just in&out) with Marin and it was so so so, SO good to see her. It had been 6 months and I dearly missed her. We went to dinner and then hung out for a while and just talked…it was good. I’m glad that I got to see Marin and her family. Her parents seem to be doing well.
Funny though, towards the time I was leaving she mentions that they are shaving their cat today (earlier this morning) and that they were going to get their cat shaven to look like a poodle. The whole ‘fur at the end of the tail’ and everything. That’s just cruel and unusual if you ask me, but I think it’s funny still. Mad props to them for doing that :P I hope to see Marin a lot this summer, she’s one of my best friends. I may put up some pictures later on my gallery, but we’ll see.
This is what I imagine her cat looking like (well, as a cat, not a dog):
This was passed on to me by Bryan so I said sure, why not.
Total volume of music files on my computer:
3946 songs | 10.14gb | 6.9 days
The last CD I bought was:
What I Was Made For” - Big Daddy Weave (Prerelease edition, it doesn’t come out until mid-July)
Song playing right now:
“Your Body Is a Wonderland” - John Mayer (hey, at least I’m truthful!)
Five songs I listen to a lot, or that mean a lot to me:
I listen to A LOT of music because I do a lot of web development, so I’ll pick out of my top 25 songs and put them in no particular order (the parenthesis shows the play count):
1. I Can Only Imagine” by MercyMe (29)
2. Broken World†by Across The Sky (23)
3. The Reason I Live by BigDismal (19)
4. Crowded†by Nural (23)
5. Starspin by Downhere (20)
People I’m passing it on to…
Today, we felt it was such a nice day, we went to the park. I was kind of just lounging around at Laura’s mod anyway, we decided to make it a friends get together. We just grabbed some beach stuff, changed into shorts and sandals, and took off. We went to grab some Cold Stone ice cream first for a tasty snack.
I also brought my soccer ball because I wanted to get a little practice in. We layed down for a bit and then I got up to kick the ball around. 4 of us went. Katie, myself, Laura, and Jessie. Laura, myself, and Katie kicked the ball around for a little bit. After relaxing a little bit more, Laura and I did some of our Literature homework, so it was good to get something done.
After finishing at the park, we came back. And well, here I am. Laura and I are going to dinner later today for our 4 month monthiversary, so I’m excited for that. Not much else going on in my life, except for oh wait, yeah there. Coming up next weekend, APU has Night of Campions. This will be my second NOC and I’m very excited for it. We are going to setup on Friday and run the show on Saturday. It’s a lot of work for setting up and taking down, so a lot of work hours for me. We had the Miss Azusa Pagaent yesterday that I ran sound for, that was partially fun. Not much else now hehe. Just back to school tomorrow.
First off, I just want to start off by saying I just wrote a LONG post and it just got erased. But anyway, I will start the real post.
My life has been REALLY crazy lately. Very crazy. So much going on that I don’t even know what to do. Mid-terms are this week. I had my English mid-term today and my Psychology mid-term tomorrow. So please be praying for me that it goes well (at 2:30pm). After the psych mid-term, I’m going to pick up some tickets to the Jars of Clay concert here at APU, so I am excited for that as well.
My crazyness has been due to school work and getting everything done. I have been getting a lot of my work done early so that I do not have to be stressing about them the day they are due. This is sort of a new idea for me and I am enjoying it a lot. Getting my accounting and Exodus/Deuteronomy done was such a relief. I feel like my weekend was spent getting my homework done, which is okay though. That is the reason I am at school here, right? Anyway, my classes are going well so I’m happy about that.
In my web life, well that is a different story altogether. Recently a High School teacher called me up and asked for my help in a business venture that she wants to start up online. So I am adding this to my plate in the next coming months. Along side of that, I recently was e-mailed by a small local APU band here, to do their site. I’m gladly going to accept it if they choose to use me. But to top it off, I’m still working on the COBS site. My load for COBS was taken off a little bit by a gentlemen in Singapore and he is helping me with the content management system that we will be using, that is good news to me. This is one of the reasons that I have not had time to post on here at all, I’ve just been so busy.
In the mist of all this, I am supposed to live. I am supposed to go to classes and still be able to stay healthy. I feel that I have been sick for the past couple of weeks, so I’m going to try to cool down a little bit. Also, GREAT news about my sister. I’M GOING TO BE AN UNCLE!!! I am sooooo excited for her. I have been dreaming of the day that I could one day make the same impact my uncles had on my life, to my future nephews/nieces.
And finally to top off this post, I am prepping for my trip to Egypt and Spain. We will get to visit an organization called Open Doors of Brother Andrews and see some old friends that I met while visiting Holland. I am VERY excited for this trip and look forward to it with much excitement in mind. I will try to keep a daily log of what we do and post it on here when I get back, but we’ll see how possible that will be. I will definitely be taking A LOT of pictures though, so prepare for some pictures when I get back!
I pray everyone is doing well. Sorry if I haven’t had much time to talk to anyone or stay in contact, but as you read, my life has been busy.
The world is changing. Time doesn’t stand still. This time I am taking right now has been long needed. This week has been one of the fastest weeks this semester. There are only 2 weeks left until leaving for Christmas break. I recently applied for COBS (Council of Business Students). I will hopefully be able to join their team to be able to assist in the web aspect of the organization. I hope to gain a lot of experience through COBS in order to better equip myself for the business world.
Enough about COBS though. Life has been rapidly moving in my life. Work…Laura…classes. Classes seem to be going well, well enough. Work is fun and helps pay the bills. I just bought some new headphones because I really needed them. I’ll be using these headphones primarily for Chapels because I am mixing quite a bit now and need them to be that little bit better. I really just needed a new pair anyway, my old pair died. Well, not really died, but they were starting to fail in one of the ears. Laura said she would be happy to use them…and so she is. The only pair of headphones I have right now are the ones that came with my iPod, which aren’t that great.
Well, this coming weekend should be relaxing. Tonight, Laura and I are going to watch Save the Last Dance. After that, I will venture back to my mod to get some sleep and then will be doing homework tomorrow and studying. Sunday will roll around and we will go to CCV with Jennifer and Matthew maybe. Not sure exaclty what is going on that day….but we’ll figure it out soon. I have to write a couple essays I think for some ministry credit stuff. It should be a good weekend though.
Yeah…good times here at school. DEFINITELY will miss them!.
Hrmmm how to start this post….so many ways I could. Moments of joy, moments of sorrow, moments of meaning, and moments of glee. How do I express how I truly feel in this post. Well, it’s been a while since I’ve really written something in here that had good contextual meaning. So I’m deciding to write that now.
Life has been awesome really lately. The time spent with Laura has been very meaningful and good. Learning and thoughtful, while still having a good time. But more importantly about Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving was awesome. I know I posted about this already once, but I’m going to give a fuller explanation about it now. Early morning, my mother and father drove out to the Santa Monica area to pick up my great grandparents to bring them out. It was so good to see them because my great Grandpa is now 88 and I love him to death. I’m not sure if he still plays golf every week at 6am, but I hope he does. I got to see my Uncle Joe, Aunt Roxanne, Uncle Jerry, Aunt Shannon, Uncle JJ (YES!!!!), Aunt Liz, grandma (the mean-green-washing-machine), and Apple Jack. Laura, my sister, drove us out to Valencia that day. We got there around 1ish and it was so good to finally arrive. To see all my family, which had seemed like forever ago, was very good. We ate, talked, ate some more (mmm pie), talked, played some games, and some of us watched the football game. It was a great time of bonding and good times.
As again, I got to share my pictures of Laura and talk about her a lot with my family. They all look forward to meeting her, because she’s the important someone in my life right now. Not to discredit all my friends and family…but ya know how it goes. Well, after sharing about her life and where she’s from and all that fun jazz, we ended up leaving around 4:00pm. We took my great grandparents home and then took the CPH (the 1) home along the coast. It was such a beautiful sunset. After getting home, I kind of just chilled all day. Went to bed pretty late.
Friday rolled around and I worked on touching up my History paper basically all day long. It was a very successful day I think, and it felt good to get that accomplished. Friday night I went over to Heather’s house where we had an Oaks Christian Alumni get-together sort of. It was me, Megan, Alex, Heather, Lindsey, Sally, Zak, Nick, and Zak’s friend Shane. It was sooooo much fun. We played games, talked, and just had a blast. Friday ended and Megan took me home along with Alex. Mmmm I love my friends. (in a friendship kind of way).
Saturday morning appeared out of no where…and I hung out in my pjs all day, it was nice. I worked on this web site a little bit in my spare time and just hung out. It was sooo nice to just have a day of doing nothing. But something caught my attention. I saw Marin online and was like, whoa! So I IMed her and she came over later that night, around 9PM. I hadn’t seen Marin in probably at least 6 months. So good to see her too. This past weekend was just full of seeing all my friends and family. Such a good weekend.
Sunday came and passed. I went to church with my mother and came back to pack afterward. But at church, I got to see Kim….MAN!!! Kim seems to be doing well and it was also sooo good to see her. Church was good, good to hear Pastor Brad speaking again. He’s a funny guy…I like Brad. After packing up, my mom drove me over to Alex’s house where her mother drove us back to APU. We stopped by at a museum and that was kind of cool. We got in for free because we were students and they had some pretty sweet art work. I was called the Norton museum of art or something, in Pasadena. But whatever, it was chill. We got back to APU around 2 or 3ish, can’t remember. I hung out for a while and then my brother in law, Matthew, came to pick me up to dive me to the Ontario airport to pick up Laura. Mmmm soo good to see her. Man, this weekend was SOOOO good. Maybe the best weekend this year. Later that night after coming back, we drove back to pick up Kate. So good that she arrived safely. Well, that’s about it for my weekend. Hope I didn’t bore you too much :P
Have a great week!
Well, on that note I will start this post. The drawn out phrase actually has a lot more behind it than just a simple, for sure meaning. But anywho. This past weekend was amazing. Laura and I went on a date on Friday and for dinner we went to a chicken and waffle place that was really good. Next we tried to go to a surprise place (turned out to be Jamba) that Laura wouldn’t tell me about, but it turned out they were closed by the time we got there….sad day. We then drove over to the Santa Monica pier (*yay* for my mom’s hometown). We walked on the beach and then we just hung out. Saturday we picked up jamba since we had missed it the night before….and man it was good.
We went back to my house after getting jamba and then we looked at pictures, played some games, and I gave Laura the tour of Thousand Oaks/Westlake/Newbury Park. This was good because she had not seen my home town yet, so now she has. We went to a concert on Saturday night (the band we went for was called Respira). Sunday rolled around and we went to Calvary Community Church in the morning and Laura got to meet a lot of my friends. We went back home and then went out to lunch with my mother. Sunday night we went to Axis and had a great time there. From there we drove home.
Monday came around and I had classes. Classes came, classes went….they were good. I finished the day and then felt good. Today, being Tuesday, I woke up and finished some work for Laura and then I went and was a guest speaker at a middle school for one of my friends that is a teacher. It was great to go see her class and be able to speak in there to share what’s going on in my life. Laura and I spent most of the afternoon running errands such as buying gifts, groceries, getting my “sledge” fixed, and picking up pictures. It has been a very successful day and then I am leaving home to go home tomorrow *YAY*. Life is good right now.
