Switchfoot last night

Blogged in Concerts, Music on Saturday July 8, 2006

I drove all the way down to Costa Mesa last night with my friend Megan so we could see Lit and Switchfoot LIVE and it was amazing. Long drive down due to traffic, took us about 3 hours to get down there, but we made it JUST in time for Switchfoot which made it completely worth driving for. It wasn’t too expensive and it was a REALLY good concert..they really know how to put on a show!

Dry County Girl by Rascal Flatts - Lyrics

Blogged in Music on Monday August 1, 2005

A tall drink of water in a cotton dress
That preacher’s daughter, she sure is blessed
As sunlight passes through the fabric so soft
You can imagine what goes through my thoughts
She says there’ll be time for all of that
When my dress is white and your suit is black

[Chorus]
There’s so many fish in the sea
And I know it’s a great big world
But I couldn’t help but fall in love so hard
For my dry county girl
For my dry county girl, yeah

It’s widely known that I have my flaws
While she’s the Joan of Arkansas
Her lips won’t touch the demon wine
But her eyes are full of pure moonshine
And I get drunk just holding her hand
I get high thinking I could be her man

[Repeat Chorus]

For my dry county girl
Lord, I fell so hard
For my dry county girl
For my dry county girl, yeah
Yeah, talking about my

[Fade]

I really liked this song and though I should post about it. It’s just a real and genuine song. Showing how much he cares about her. It’s something I want one day…

Something inside of my tells me that they are a Christian band, but they haven’t really publicly announced that or declared it as far as I know. I really like Rascal Flatts.

Big Daddy Weave - What I Was Made For

This CD hit stores not too long ago.

The cd rocks! They did such a good job and I really like the cd. I pre-ordered it and it came yesterday. I got the autographed insert with it, it’s AWESOME! I can’t say enough about this CD and band. They are doing great things and it rocks!

I think the inspiration for this CD reall took off and they knew what they were doing. The last track I think is one of the most important though. The last track is 5 minutes of pure silence. Why, you may ask? Because after the 10th song on the CD they knew they had to have some quiet time after. Read more about it here.

It’s time to drop everything and run

Scott Stapp interview w/ ChristianityToday.com

Blogged in Music on Saturday April 9, 2005

As I was looking through my music this morning, I saw the band Creed. It had been a while since I had heard them, so I turned them on. It got me thinking about what they had been up to. I know that they had recently split up and now are two different bands, but I still wanted to do some research on them. So I put Creed into Google and started looking around. I saw an article about Scott Stapp and ChristianityToday.com that was an interview. That looked quite interesting, so I started reading it.

I guess there hasn’t been much about my life a lot recently. I have been posting a lot of tech posts, but there has been a lot going on in the Technology world. My travels to Egypt and Spain delayed postings of my life too because I was gone for a week. But anyway, I’m back on track here. But being back on track after coming back from Egypt, my sleep patterns are still a little messed up. I woke up at 5:00am this morning….so this will be a long day for me.

Classes are going really well this semester for me. I feel confident about my grades this semester and that I’m doing well. I have been dating my girlfriend, Laura, for almost 5 months now. We just had our spring break and I went to Egypt and Spain. It really helped change my perspective on life. Going to a third world country really makes one appreciate the country they live in much more. I appreciate it so much more that I live in the US instead of a third world country. It’s truly a blessing to be able to live in a country like the US.

We have roughly 5 weeks left of school and then I will be back at home. I’m hoping to get an internship with a company so that I can start building my resume up and earn a little extra cash on the side too. I’m looking forward to summer. It’s a nice 4 months break from school and then get to return to a great semester. I’m thinking about registering for 4 major classes and one GE class. Two web classes and two Business Core classes. I really enjoy the business/web classes, so I am looking forward to it. I may end up double majoring because I will have so many units left over to finish my degree.

Keep checking back here, I will hopefully redesign this site a little bit, but I’m not sure, we’ll see if I have the time. Oh yeah, we have a concert coming up shortly. Small Boat Sinking, Tyrone Wells, and then the headliner Jars of Clay. I’m very excited for this concert and am looking forward to it. Megan and some of her friends are coming down along with my sister Jennifer. We will have a great time. There are still tickets if you live in the area and want to go.

Broken Worlds

Blogged in Music on Thursday March 3, 2005

Promises shattered
Answers don’t come
Friends say goodbye
Plans come undone
Dreams get crushed
Lies get told
Words can turn cruel
Hearts can grow cold

CHORUS
In a broken world where we cry to feel
Some hope that helps these hearts to heal
You’re my strength, You’re my refuge
In a broken world, Jesus I’m holding to You

You make sense of the madness
And You make darkness flee
You bring such a calm
To the chaos in me
Show me life
Tell me truth
Day after day I keep running to You

CHORUS

Long ago, we fell so far
Yet You came to where we are

CHORUS

This song means a lot to me. I just like the words and how they are shown through the soft touch of the song. It gives me a good feeling. (This is a new category and I will be posting random lyrics once in a while depending on the mood I’m in.)
