school starts up again
school is starting up again and I head back tomorrow — keep an eye out for me at school!
it was a good break…long enough — but it needs to be longer — oh well.

I’m very exciting because I leave for Costa Rica in a few days, I may keep a journal of the trip but I’m not sure yet. I’ll keep it posted. I’ll post pictures when I get home too.
Well, I have one week left of school here. Things are getting a little bit calmer, because they were REALLY insane with all the papers and stuff, but I turned in those and did all my presentations, now it’s just finals. I’ll be home in about a week, so I’ll be posting more then. thanks.
So yeah, I’m looking around for a summer job soon. I’m thinking about a couple companies, but I have yet to look further at them and see which one will be right for me. I’m looking around for a job too that will be possibly a career post-college. If you have any great ideas that may fit my needs, feel free to comment or leave me a note.
So yeah, Thanksgiving came around and I’m here…..I don’t really use this blog much anymore, but here it is =)
thanksgiving was AWESOME this year. the food was GOOOOD and I got to go to a Lakers game on the floor, it was SWEEEEEEET. that’s all hehe :P
My life has been crazy busy, crazy busy, crazy busy in the past few months. I have had sooooo much to do on my plate.
James and I have been working non-stop on Christian-lyrics.net with database entry, backend user database logistics, and much much more. There are so many good things planned for it. We are hoping to launch towards the end of August, a full launch. Right now we are in the soft launch stages, gathering affiliates and still inputting the data. Much work to get done, but we are VERY excited for it. We have a lot in store and still only a few weeks before our deadlines.
On top of that, I have about 5 other sites I’m starting up and managing. Cobs.net, equip4college.com, a private blog that isn’t released yet, I still have to manage this blog (sorry for the lack of updates everyone! I’m explaining why right now), and I have a few other sites I’m working on as well.
My life has just been crazy busy lately and I haven’t had much time to just chill. I drive to Santa Barbara everyday for work so that takes an hour of my time and then the rest of the time I’m working on web development to bring these sites to life.
I will be posting more about the trip up to Washington this past weekend, hopefully at some point this week if I find the time. But we had a GREAT time and the wedding was a blast. I got to meet a lot of new people and it was really good. It’s usually pretty decent weather when I visit up there, but it was really hot this time, oh well.
That’s all for now….zzzz I need sleep =p
In February, open source blogging application WordPress came out with its release 1.5, and we’ve found that this release puts WordPress squarely ahead of its competition (namely MovableType, which has begun to shift its focus away from consumers and onto enterprises). Although wrangling together a domain name and Web hosting space and then uploading the WordPress software can be intimidating to newcomers, once it’s set up this hosted option is one of your easiest for ongoing use. You can download and tweak visual themes that make your blog look radically different from the plain default Kubrick theme (blue header, white background). There are also plenty of plug-ins, with which you can set your blog up to do things like highlight search text, restrict certain posts to certain users or tie in with outside services like Flickr, Del.icio.us or Technorati. WordPress is gaining in popularity quickly, with more than 200,000 downloads in its first three months. If you like WordPress, but think it’s too complicated, try Blogsome, a hosted version of WordPress.
BEST: Community of users. If you have a question, either check the documentation wiki (to which anyone can contribute) or ask at the support message board. We had an obscure question answered within an hour.
WORST: Poor image management options.
Frankly, if that’s the worst thing anyone can find about Wordpress, we have one fine piece of software on our hands here =)
Are you looking for cheap webhosting? Only want to pay $9/year? Here’s how..
1) Visit www.dreamhost.com
2) Sign up for the Crazy domain Insane Package
3) Enter “777″ (without quotes) in the special promotions place next to the total at the end
4) … there is no step 4, that’s it.
your total normally would be around $119.46, but with this special discount it will drop it by $111 and it brings yout total down to $9.46
I hope everyone enjoys =)
Today, James and I were able to finish up all the loose ends on our site that we are launching. We launched Christian-Lyrics.net, and by the name, you can obviously tell what is it. It’s a Christian lyrics website. You can view the forums and site at Christian-lyrics.net/forums.
We have many things to finish up before it’s ready for all the marketing and all the users, but we are just starting to get our name out there and build up our database.
We could thoroughly appreciate anyone that would give us a link back to www.christian-lyrics.net or write a post about us. We are new and want to start marketing ourselves, so all the advertising possible from anyone is very appreciated.
