Friday Musings on the Way Home

Blogged in My Life on Friday July 1, 2005

Well, today was a pretty good day. I left early from work around 3:45pm because I wanted to beat the traffic and make it home early. So I made it home, right? Yeah, I made it home around 4:45pm. So I did a couple things for my mom and ran some errands then decided I would go join the YMCA so I could do stuff there for the summer, such as work out and swim.

While on my way home from the YMCA, I feel this weird flapping on the side of my car….

flat tire

Yeah, I had a flat tire. It wasn’t too bad. AAA came and swapped it out real quickly and was done in a half hour. I’ll head over to the Tire Man tomorrow, but that’s life. There’s my afternoon in a nutshell for you :)

Upcoming Holiday Thanks

The 4th of july is coming up and I thought this would be a good time to show some support for our troops. I am a fully supporter of our troops in the military for I know they work endless hours and are very tired day in and day out. I want to thank them for their continued service to this country. I am very thankful to be a US citizen for I have traveled all over the world and I have seen many countries. I have never seen a country such as good as ours. I would also like to take this time to thank my relatives that have served in the served in the military such as my father, my uncle Bob, and many other people in my family. I truly appreciate all you did and have continued to do. My continued prayers are with the troops serving today.

Busyness spelled incorrectly

Blogged in Friends, My Life on Monday June 27, 2005

Well, to start it off, I partially took the title from Chris’ site because his site title is Sillyness spelled incorrectly, so that’s where it came from. My life has been pretty busy lately. I have done a lot of modifications to this site and I’m getting ready to launch another site soon. I’ve been working on the forums for that site as well and getting everything ready. There is much work to be done still before launching my new site, but it should be good and hopefully ready within 2 weeks.

My sister came out this past weekend and it was really good to spend the weekend with her. I hadn’t seen her in a while and she’s gotten so much bigger (belly-wise because she’s pregnant!). We’re all very excited for them that they are expecting a baby boy. I was able to hang out with a lot of my friends this past weekend and catch up on old times. I love my friends, I have some of the best friends I think. It’s nice to know that I don’t have fake friends that just want to use my or something, but actually care about me and who I am.

Church was pretty good this past weekend because Larry spoke (he is the founding pastor of the church, but hasn’t been the senior pastor for 2 years now). Things are going really well in my life and I’m going down to see a friend next weekend in Irvine, so that will be very exciting. Lots of stuff happening and more to come, so stay tuned :D

New Phone - Treo 650

Blogged in My Life on Thursday June 16, 2005

I had a Samsung phone and it was starting to die on me. Options weren’t saving and phone numbers were starting to go weird….the phone was just old. I got this phone back in November 2003, so it was quite a while ago. I had heard about the new Treo 650 and thought it was awesome, I really wanted it. Here it is, the 15th of June and I now have the Treo 650. This thing is SAWEET!

Treo 650

I really like it and I haven’t even had it a day yet….I’m excited! It’s about time I finally have a phone that works!

In the mean time…

Wow. All I can say is wow. Last night was amazing. I went to dinner (just in&out) with Marin and it was so so so, SO good to see her. It had been 6 months and I dearly missed her. We went to dinner and then hung out for a while and just talked…it was good. I’m glad that I got to see Marin and her family. Her parents seem to be doing well.

Funny though, towards the time I was leaving she mentions that they are shaving their cat today (earlier this morning) and that they were going to get their cat shaven to look like a poodle. The whole ‘fur at the end of the tail’ and everything. That’s just cruel and unusual if you ask me, but I think it’s funny still. Mad props to them for doing that :P I hope to see Marin a lot this summer, she’s one of my best friends. I may put up some pictures later on my gallery, but we’ll see.

This is what I imagine her cat looking like (well, as a cat, not a dog): poodle

Summer Style - Again

Blogged in My Life on Friday June 3, 2005

Well, work has started for me. I am working at a dotcom company called Commission Junction ( www.cj.com ). This company is one of the largest advertising companies on the internet and I am very blessed to be given the privilege to work for them this summer. I am learning a new programming language called Java and J2EE, so it will be fun.

Sorry about the lack of posts, I’ve just been really busy. With my trip up to Northern California and the house getting redone (we had our floor replaced because the other one got flooded by our dish washer), I haven’t had much time to post at all or work on the site at all. Hopefully now that I’m settled in with my job I will find more time on my hands and on the weekends. I’ll be working 8-5 (leave at 7am and get home at 6pm because it’s an hour drive). Good times, now back to work.

San Francisco

Blogged in My Life, Geek, Travel on Saturday May 28, 2005

I’m up in San Francisco and Oakland right now with my dad. We went to a Giant’s game today vs. the Padres and the Padres won. Too bad because that still puts the Padres into first place. We are going to church in Sacramento tomorrow at a church called Bayside and then I’m driving up to Yuba City to see some friends from APU, so it should be a good weekend!!

On a side note, I recently purchased some more domains that I will soon be releasing as a list of domains I am selling. I’m into the domain business now if you didn’t know, so I purchase a lot of domains in hope that one day someone will buy them. I have a current sale pending, so hopefully this will take off for me. I just purchased 4 more tonight which comes to a total of 18 domains. More news to come on this once I get them all setup.

Ahh one of my kitties on a hot day. She’s a very fun kitty. She’s the mother of our other kitty, Susie. We have 4 and I love them all. A handful, but a lot of fun!! Muffin on a hot day!

Power Outage

Blogged in My Life on Wednesday May 25, 2005

Last night, around 7:20pm, the power goes out. No warning from the power company, no nothing, the power just goes out. Well, I have a backup battery for my desktop, so I thought the power would go back on, but it didn’t. So the power to my computer finally got cut, but that was just the start of it!

The power didn’t get restored until 11:30pm last night. It was off for about 4 hours. My sister and I were in the middle of a Mario Karty on N64 game and the power zipped out, we were annoyed. We started setting up candles and flashlights. After doing that, we started playing some cards and then ordered pizza, it was fun :) But not too long after playing cards, we realized the house was quiet. Usually there are little kids running around, aka our cats, and it was all too quiet. Sure enough, we look at the back door, and it’s open. Our cat Olivia had opened the door because she’s such a smart kitty. She knows how to open the screen with her claws and let everyone out. We had to go gather all the cats, well, 3 of the 4, and finished that in about 10 minutes.

We came back and then only to still have no power (this is at around 10:30pm). My sister finally went to bed and I stayed up for a little bit talking to Laura V. and it was good. Finally, about the time I getting ready to go to bed, the power came back on and I stayed up until 2:30am playing Starcraft because I finally got it working. And yes, Starcraft is one of the best old school games out there! Well, that’s what my day was like yesterday, all was good :)

Between 19 and 20

Blogged in My Life on Sunday May 15, 2005

Well, my birthday is coming up soon, so I’m pretty excited. I’m not exactly sure what I will be doing for my birthday. I’ll probably end up doing what I’ve done for the past years and just hang out at my house by myself, but we’ll see. I usually don’t do a whole lot or get anything for my birthday really. I’ll just be turning 20, so I will be breaking the teenager mark now.
19 to 20
I have a bunch of stuff that I’ve already wanted to get, like
new speakers, an iPod holder for my car, and the new Shaun Groves CD, but I’m looking to buy a new monitor because my current one is breaking and a sound system for my car this summer. I’m looking forward to this summer and hopefully going to get a job this summer, but we’ll see how that turns out.

Update: I thought of a couple small things that I did want for my birthday, so I want to get the Napoleon Dynamite DVD (widescreen of course), The Boondock Saints (widescreen), Star Wars - Episode I (widescreen), but I really really want to do get the Star Wars Trilogy (Widescreen Edition). Oh, lastly, another update, I want the Photoshop CS - Down and Dirty Tricks book, because I love photoshop and I need to get that book at some point. If you want to get it for me, just ask for my address.
