Dodgers Strike Back!

Blogged in My Life, News, Sports on Friday May 13, 2005

Tonight was a very eventful evening. I was able to spend the evening with my father and two friends. TR and Randy were able to join us for the game tonight, very delightful company.Dodger Stadium 05-13-05

As the game was progressing, we [Dodgers] finally started scoring in the third inning against the Atlanta Braves. We pulled up with a 2-0 winning score going into the 8th inning. One batter comes up for the Braves, gets a single; think nothing of it? Wrong. Another batter and another, soon enough the Braves have bases loaded and 2 outs. The next thing we know, a home run is hit with bases loaded so that brings the score to 2-4 in favor of the Braves. After a few pitcher changes and talks from the manager, the Dodgers are able to pull out of the inning with the score 2-4. Next the Dodgers are up to bat. We swing at a couple and get some men on bases. Before long, we have the bases loaded as well. Milton Bradley got up to bat. With a full count, he also swings for a home run and gets it! We too got a grand slam in the bottom of the 8th inning. That’s right, two grand slams in the same inning, one by each team. This wasn’t it though for the 8th inning. With 3 more batters that came up, we ended up scoring again to make the score 7-4 in favor of the Dodgers.

With the game finally coming to an end, we won the game 7-4. It was quite an amazing game and I am very glad I was able to attend. It was a good evening.

I’m just 19 for a moment

As I’m listening to the song 100 years, by Five For Fighting, I realize something. I realize that time has passed by faster than I’m able to see.

As I look back on my life, I’m able to say it was good. I’m able to look back at elementary school days and those friends who have all grown up and gone to make a life for themselves. Through TheFaceBook, I was able to try to get in contact with some of those old friends. I am thinking about what has happened since I’ve grown up and started to make a life for myself. I realized that I’m a Junior in college now and will going out into the world my parents are in right now. This is sort of a scary feeling, but good to know that I’m finally becoming who I want to be.

As I look back at all the relationships I’ve had and what I’ve taken out of each one, they have all shaped me so much and helped me grow. I’m no where near the full capacity of who I could be, but I’m slowly getting there and becoming better. I’m growing up and becoming a person of my own. I’m currently looking for a job for the summer still and hoping to get one with www.cj.com because I really want to work for them this summer.

Many things have happened in my life that have built me up and tore me down. For example, my car accident on June 10th, 2003. That was a very memorable experience of mine because I met death and came back. The doctors told my family they didn’t expect me to live, but here I am. By God’s grace am I here for a reason. I’m here to serve a purpose and to do something good. I am happy to be alive and be here.

Sounds Good!

I recently was sent some money by Site5 for referring some customers to their business, so I decided it was time I get some new speakers. I went ahead and looked around on newegg.com for a bit then asked my friend Matt what his suggestion was. He recommended these JBL speakers and I really liked them, so I went ahead and ordered them. They weren’t too expensive and they seem to get the job done very nicely. Loud enough and very compact for my needs.

Manch DVD CoverAlong on the same day though, I went ahead and purchased this movie that I was looking for, called Manchurian Candidate. It’s a very good semi-war movie that has a very good plot. I first saw this :movie on an airplane on the way back from Paris and I really liked it. We watched it on one of our COBS movie nights, so I thought I would go ahead and buy it. The lady I purchased from as even as to so nice to include popcorn and a small note. This is the first time I’ve ever had an ebayer send something more than just what I purchased, it was very nice of her. Yet another good ebay experience.

Summer Style

Blogged in College, My Life on Wednesday May 11, 2005

Summer has finally arrived. Many good things to come this summer, I hope. Many things have already happened, but many more to hopefully happen.

I applied for a couple jobs already, but got denied at one. It was a good interview, but they didn’t have any open positions for me. Bummer, but that’s life. My friend got a job there already and she will be living out here in Thousand Oaks for the summer. I applied for another job today and will hopefully hear back from them soon about whether or not they want me to interview. I am hoping this job will go through because I really want to work with their company.

Laura is driving up to Northern California tomorrow and will eventually make it up to Washington, so I hope she has a good trip up. I am very excited to see my friends this summer like Megan, Jennifer, Heather, Marin, and many many more. I have many friends that I need to catch up with. I hope I have the time with work and all that.

oh yeah, I CAN DRIVE AGAIN!!!! I started driving on Monday. After 2 years, I can drive again and I very excited about it.

Random Musings

Blogged in General, My Life, Music on Thursday March 31, 2005

I guess there hasn’t been much about my life a lot recently. I have been posting a lot of tech posts, but there has been a lot going on in the Technology world. My travels to Egypt and Spain delayed postings of my life too because I was gone for a week. But anyway, I’m back on track here. But being back on track after coming back from Egypt, my sleep patterns are still a little messed up. I woke up at 5:00am this morning….so this will be a long day for me.

Classes are going really well this semester for me. I feel confident about my grades this semester and that I’m doing well. I have been dating my girlfriend, Laura, for almost 5 months now. We just had our spring break and I went to Egypt and Spain. It really helped change my perspective on life. Going to a third world country really makes one appreciate the country they live in much more. I appreciate it so much more that I live in the US instead of a third world country. It’s truly a blessing to be able to live in a country like the US.

We have roughly 5 weeks left of school and then I will be back at home. I’m hoping to get an internship with a company so that I can start building my resume up and earn a little extra cash on the side too. I’m looking forward to summer. It’s a nice 4 months break from school and then get to return to a great semester. I’m thinking about registering for 4 major classes and one GE class. Two web classes and two Business Core classes. I really enjoy the business/web classes, so I am looking forward to it. I may end up double majoring because I will have so many units left over to finish my degree.

Keep checking back here, I will hopefully redesign this site a little bit, but I’m not sure, we’ll see if I have the time. Oh yeah, we have a concert coming up shortly. Small Boat Sinking, Tyrone Wells, and then the headliner Jars of Clay. I’m very excited for this concert and am looking forward to it. Megan and some of her friends are coming down along with my sister Jennifer. We will have a great time. There are still tickets if you live in the area and want to go.

Lasting Times

Blogged in College, My Life on Wednesday March 30, 2005

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to actually sit down and write an entry. I still don’t even have much time on my hands. Trying to figure out a summer job, finishing the semester here at school, and just living. A lot going on.

Things to do:

  • Post the logs from my trip to Europe & Africa
  • Finish the semester
  • Redesign my blog (maybe)
  • Confirm my job for this summer
  • Do research on cars
  • Live

Just a lot to do. Hopefully I’ll find time to do it….

Service Outage

Blogged in College, My Life on Friday March 18, 2005

Starting back on umm I think it was Wednesday night, the Internet here at Azusa Pacific University, was down. We were able to access local network servers, such as apu.edu and den.apu.edu, but were unable to access any website outside of our network. Today, around 2 or 3:00pm, the service was restored and were able to again access websites.

Also, here at my living area, I am the last one here. My roommate left for San Francisco and won’t be back for a week. My other modmate left for Mexico for the week. I leave for Egypt in 2 days, so I’m very excited. The week is over now and I just have to move my sister home and then wait until Sunday morning. There will be a lack of updates until the 28th of March because I will be gone.

I hope everyone has a great Spring break (for those that are on it now). Stay safe.
