Dice Quiz

Blogged in My Life on Thursday March 17, 2005

I am a d10

Take the quiz at dicepool.com

Ah, the d10! While you aren’t actually a true regular polyhedron, you are the only die that makes logical sense–metrically speaking. Chances are, others see you as over-analytical or a goody-goody. While that may be true, you also have a gift for patience and tolerance. Growing up you probably had a calculator wristwatch that you never really needed to use (since you were faster on your own), and you probably aced all your classes (except for gym). You use the metric system almost exclusively, but are able to quickly convert in mid-conversation for the sake of your backwards Imperalist friends. You’ve coded in at least two different programming languages, and have created more original gaming systems than you’ll ever admit. You’re generally not a show-off, but you do take pride in being called either a geek or a nerd.

Soccer Winding Down

Blogged in General, My Life, Travel, Sports on Wednesday March 9, 2005

Hey Folks. It seems like soccer is winding down. We almost didn’t have a game yesterday. Well, let me explain. We are forced to have at least 6 players in order to play, accordingly to the league rules. Apparently Tyler thought we didn’t have a game after all, so I had to run up to Smith Hall and grab him so we could play. We didn’t play a team that was great, they were only decent. After a while, Nate showed up and we had 7. We played down a player for the rest of the game. We lost 1-4, but it was a fun game. I felt like I played a hard game and I had a good time.

We only have 2 more games. Next week and the week after Spring Break. I have a lot of school work to get done this week and next, so I will be busy and probably won’t have time to post again for at least 2 weeks. I will try to keep a log of my trip to Egypt and Spain and maybe post it after I get home. I have a bunch of papers and homework to finish before leaving for Egypt. I will be returning to the USA on March 28th, so please keep my travels in mind. I hope everyone has a great Spring break, and for those already on it, I hope you are enjoying it.

Sunday Ease

Blogged in Friends, College, My Life on Sunday March 6, 2005

Today, we felt it was such a nice day, we went to the park. I was kind of just lounging around at Laura’s mod anyway, we decided to make it a friends get together. We just grabbed some beach stuff, changed into shorts and sandals, and took off. We went to grab some Cold Stone ice cream first for a tasty snack.

I also brought my soccer ball because I wanted to get a little practice in. We layed down for a bit and then I got up to kick the ball around. 4 of us went. Katie, myself, Laura, and Jessie. Laura, myself, and Katie kicked the ball around for a little bit. After relaxing a little bit more, Laura and I did some of our Literature homework, so it was good to get something done.

After finishing at the park, we came back. And well, here I am. Laura and I are going to dinner later today for our 4 month monthiversary, so I’m excited for that. Not much else going on in my life, except for oh wait, yeah there. Coming up next weekend, APU has Night of Campions. This will be my second NOC and I’m very excited for it. We are going to setup on Friday and run the show on Saturday. It’s a lot of work for setting up and taking down, so a lot of work hours for me. We had the Miss Azusa Pagaent yesterday that I ran sound for, that was partially fun. Not much else now hehe. Just back to school tomorrow.

Soccer: Game 4

Blogged in My Life, Sports on Wednesday March 2, 2005

We had another soccer game yesterday. We lost again, 0-4, against a moderately good team. I knew some of the people on their team. They weren’t anything great, but they had some skilled players. They were kind of jerks about some of the calls, but that happens. It was a fun game though. I feel like I played hard and had a great time.

And well, today we didn’t have school. Today was CDL (Common Day of Learning) here at APU. My girlfriend and I just kind of lounged around today. We went to Sports Chalet and Office Depot to pick up some things, but mostly it was a day of rest. It was much needed with so much going on.

Also, regarding my passport, that kind of got messed up too. I have to fill out a couple more things before it’s ready to get shipped off again and then processed. I need to have it by March 20th so that I can go to Egypt and Spain with my dad. We’re still wondering where it could have gone…but oh well, that’s life.

Life in the fast lane

Blogged in Friends, Events, My Life, Concerts, Travel on Monday February 28, 2005

First off, I just want to start off by saying I just wrote a LONG post and it just got erased. But anyway, I will start the real post.

My life has been REALLY crazy lately. Very crazy. So much going on that I don’t even know what to do. Mid-terms are this week. I had my English mid-term today and my Psychology mid-term tomorrow. So please be praying for me that it goes well (at 2:30pm). After the psych mid-term, I’m going to pick up some tickets to the Jars of Clay concert here at APU, so I am excited for that as well.

My crazyness has been due to school work and getting everything done. I have been getting a lot of my work done early so that I do not have to be stressing about them the day they are due. This is sort of a new idea for me and I am enjoying it a lot. Getting my accounting and Exodus/Deuteronomy done was such a relief. I feel like my weekend was spent getting my homework done, which is okay though. That is the reason I am at school here, right? Anyway, my classes are going well so I’m happy about that.

In my web life, well that is a different story altogether. Recently a High School teacher called me up and asked for my help in a business venture that she wants to start up online. So I am adding this to my plate in the next coming months. Along side of that, I recently was e-mailed by a small local APU band here, to do their site. I’m gladly going to accept it if they choose to use me. But to top it off, I’m still working on the COBS site. My load for COBS was taken off a little bit by a gentlemen in Singapore and he is helping me with the content management system that we will be using, that is good news to me. This is one of the reasons that I have not had time to post on here at all, I’ve just been so busy.

In the mist of all this, I am supposed to live. I am supposed to go to classes and still be able to stay healthy. I feel that I have been sick for the past couple of weeks, so I’m going to try to cool down a little bit. Also, GREAT news about my sister. I’M GOING TO BE AN UNCLE!!! I am sooooo excited for her. I have been dreaming of the day that I could one day make the same impact my uncles had on my life, to my future nephews/nieces.

And finally to top off this post, I am prepping for my trip to Egypt and Spain. We will get to visit an organization called Open Doors of Brother Andrews and see some old friends that I met while visiting Holland. I am VERY excited for this trip and look forward to it with much excitement in mind. I will try to keep a daily log of what we do and post it on here when I get back, but we’ll see how possible that will be. I will definitely be taking A LOT of pictures though, so prepare for some pictures when I get back!

I pray everyone is doing well. Sorry if I haven’t had much time to talk to anyone or stay in contact, but as you read, my life has been busy.

Soccer and other updates

Blogged in College, My Life, Sports on Wednesday February 23, 2005

Another soccer report….well, sort of. This week we had a bye for soccer…and it was raining. We wouldn’t have played anyway, even if we had a game, so it was good we didn’t. Bummer for the rest of the teams though. This week has been really rainy overall and a lot of other things going on.

Another school update is that Spring Thing is happening next weekend, so people are excited about it. They recently dropped the price to the dance to $40. I think people will have fun going to it.

Umm I don’t think there are any other updates. Oh wait, chapel was umm interesting thing morning. They just let us go, as their ‘Creative Arts’ chapel. Classes are going well and I like them. That’s about it I guess…not much else going on in my life. Well, I guess there is one more great thing. I love hanging out with my girlfriend and spending quality time with her. We’ve only been together a little over 3 months, but it’s been a growing and stretching 3 months for me at least. It’s been good and I look forward to hopefully spending more time with her. God truly never stops working in amazing ways with each person’s life.

Music Meme

Blogged in General, My Life on Wednesday February 16, 2005

1. How many music files are there on your computer?
Well, I live on campus at a university. Well, with that campus network, a lot of peopel use iTunes. So I have about 3924 songs. BUT, please keep in mind that I own over 60 cds so a lot of those songs are ones I bought legally.

2. Last CD you bought?
I would have to say it was the Passion of the Christ: Inspired by songs album that I bought off ebay. Well, maybe it was Shaun Groves, but does that count before it was for my girlfriend and not myself? Well, either way, those are the last 2 cds I bought.

3. What is the song you last listened to before reading this message?
Oh man, I guess the last one I heard was in chapel and it was Switchfoot - I Dare You to Move. Good song and I LOVE them live. I would have to say they are the best band I’ve ever seen live.

4. Five songs you often listen to or which mean a lot to you?
Downhere - Calmer of the Storm
Switchfoot - Twenty Four
Relient K - My girl’s ex-boyfriend
Big Dismal - Too Pretty
Casting Crowns - Who am I

These songs have a lot of meaning to me and have affected my life greatly I think. You should check them out and their lyrics. Pretty powerful I think.

5. Who are you going to pass this on to and why?
Ummmm I may try to give it to Beccary or Bryan. We’ll see. I’ll pass it on to them because they are cool peeps and I think they would enjoy this.

The Latest

Blogged in My Life on Sunday January 30, 2005

Phew, sorry folks. It’s been too long since I’ve had a chance to write about my life here. This was meant to be a blog about my life and turned into something else. Lately, life has been pretty crazy. Most of my classes have a lot of reading in this and this takes up a lot of my time. I have recently joined COBS and that has taken a grasp on my time as well. I have become a part time web master there so I am helping design their new site structure. As for CCV, I have declined my work opportunity there because I feel that I will have my plate full this semester. I am taking, yet again, 17 units. 5 classes (English, Psych, Health, Accouting, and Exodus/Deuteronomy) along with my 3 units of COBS Internship.

I also have soccer starting up. We have a practice tonight and a game on this coming Tuesday. I haven’t played soccer in about 2 years, so it will be very good to get back on track with it. Soccer has always been a passion of mine and I have loved it my whole, just about. Laura and I went shopping at the mall yesterday go get some stuff such as some shinguards and some shorts. A couple shirts too, for working out and running. It was a very successful day I think, even though we returned during traffic.

Not much else going on in my life right now. Work, Soccer, Classes, Girlfriend, Family…that’s about it really. That’s enough to keep anyone busy though. I am very busy and that can be both good and bad. I like to stay busy, but not too busy. I wasn’t very busy last year so I went home every weekend to see some friends, but this year I rarely am going home because my life has moved from home to here at school where it should be. That’s all I have for you right now.

Back to reality…

Blogged in College, My Life on Sunday January 9, 2005

I’m home :D Yes folks, that’s right. I have finally back to sunny errrr rainy California. I’m back at school and classes start tomorrow. I had a VERY eventful break which included a lot of cold weather and lots of fun. I will be posting pictures of the trip later today. The major part of my break was the event of my flying up to Washington to see my girlfriend and her family. It was a blast and it was really good to get to know them and where she is from. It was cold, as you read in my other posts, but I liked it overall. It’s good to be home still because I miss my California and the familiarity of knowing my home town. This new semester has a lot of surprises coming, I think. Regarding the semester already, I think I might be adding/dropping 2 classes and changing my schedule around completely due to the fact that I might not be able to stay in one of my classes. That’s life though. The semester will be VERY busy, but very good. So keep checking up on this site to see what’s going on in my life :) I hope everyone’s break was safe and good. I hope that everyone that is still at home, has safe travels back to school wherever you may be going. God bless.

Update: I added some pictures in to http://photos.j0n.org if you want to take a look. Lots of images and a lot fun. Sorry there are no captions for each image yet, but when I get the time to add them in, I will. School is starting soon and life will be hectic for a while, but when things settle down I will do it.
